Wellness 3 Balance

          GROUNDING is related to BALANCE in the human system, because it releases excess charge and balances the general flow of positive and negative electrical charge in the body.  BALANCE is the basis for health and well being in Chinese, Ayurvedic (Indian) and most approaches to complementary medicine. You can further BALANCE your body systems by breathing deeply and fully (helps oxygenate your body and send nutrients to all the cells.  The body systems also need vitamins and other nutrients, which usually correspond to the colors they appear as in nature  (ex, Vit A – yellow and green, Vit C – orange, Vit B red) . You can further balance your body’s energy and increase well being by paying attention to any part of your body that feels tense, tired, irritated, sluggish, sore, etc. Our bodies actually have some sense of what they need if we pay close enough attention to them, so let intuition guide you as to what color a part of your body needs, and imagine breathing that color in and out of that part of your body. By focusing on a color, you increase your body’s absorption of that color from the spectrum of light.
         You can also improve your body’s postural balance as you sit and stand by feeling your feet (if standing) or your tailbone (if sitting) sinking down into the ground or chair while you look outward at a fixed point on the horizon, such as a tree, a roof, a hilltop. The body has great wisdom here: we can often gain emotional balance in a difficult situation by seeing “the big picture” from a broader perspective.
